Perkins has expanded its industrial engine offering to cover key power brackets from 9-18 litres.
Four new engine series – the 1700, 2200, 2500 and 2800 – have been launched by Perkins, adding new engine options and power ratings up to 597 kW (800 hp) to the industrial lineup. Each series includes a 6 cylinder industrial engine designed to power off-highway applications or reliable and efficient electricity generation.
- the 1706 (9 litre)
- the 2206 (13 litre)
- the 2506 (15 litre)
- the 2806 (18 litre)
It means Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) need to go to just one supplier – Perkins – to meet a spread of engine needs and break points under the major global emissions standards for power ratings from 250-575 kW (335-800 hp) for domestic and export markets, saving time and money.
All four engines are 6 cylinder turbocharged and aftercooled units with direct injection and fully electronic control system. They have been validated to deliver optimal performance in the harshest working environments, particularly in construction.
The powerful and robust engines are designed to improve the performance and productivity of machines across a wide range of markets and territories.
Their excellent power density also allows OEMs to select a smaller engine where previously they might have used a lager unit. Such downsizing not only creates additional space for aftertreatment units, it also reduces running costs, making machines more competitive.
The new industrial engines have attracted numerous machine manufacturer from the fields of agriculture and construction at this year´s bauma.
